Lighthouse’s Residents Recreation Activities Calendar – February 2026
There is always something to do at Emmanuel Home and Lighthouse!
Social isolation is a common and serious problem that many seniors face. That is why keeping both socially and physically active in a vibrant and supportive retirement community is so important for residents who call Emmanuel Home or Lighthouse their home.
We offer a wide range of leisure and recreational activities for seniors in both independent and assisted living facilities, including our in-house Keep Fit program, entertainment and special events, games featured on our weekly Games Night and regular community outings. Shuffleboard and billiards are always available to residents and our recreation program offers something for everyone!
During the summertime, residents can enjoy the beautiful flower gardens planted in our courtyard as they relax or spend time with family and friends in the gazebo (Emmanuel Home) or sitting on park benches. Emmanuel Home and Lighthouse also have a gardening area where residents can plant vegetables like green beans, tomatoes, potatoes and peas.
Both locations also have on-site libraries, like the well-appointed Gerry Segger Library, that offer an excellent selection of books. This room also provides a quiet space for residents to relax and reflect.
For more recreation program information, please contact aria@esls.ca (Emmanuel Home) or lana@the-lighthouse.ca (Lighthouse).
Emmanuel Home is a Christian senior living facility that provides services to meet the spiritual needs of our residents. We offer a Wednesday morning devotion time provided by various pastors from the local Reformed Christian Community. Trinity Christian Reformed Church, our neighbour, provides spiritual support and service to residents through its pastor, Rev. Rich deLange.
Residents will also enjoy a bi-weekly Hymn Sing on Monday at 7:00 PM.
Emmanuel Home provides a healthy retirement community for our residents and is committed to keeping ties to the greater community around us strong. Sometimes members of the community are invited to our home and other times we head out into the community. Here are some community locations in Edmonton and area that our residents visit:
